Although getting financing for buying home is a huge process, Jeff & Denise made the experience comfortable for me! They got me answers quickly and efficiently and sometimes even on the weekend. I discovered this dynamic duo while exploring mortgage areas and couldn’t be happier with their outstanding competency and personal service during this expensive purchase. Jeff really listened to me and asked some great questions as to my “wants” and “needs”...he gave some great initial options and was clearly well versed in the home buying programs and accurately gave me some initial numbers.
He never tried “overselling” or influence my bottom line. His partner, Denise, then went well beyond with sitting down with me in person and helping complete my application and ran specific numbers related to my property of choice to make sire I had a good understanding of the financial breakdowns (including the HOA fees for the specific neighborhood I was shopping).
During the approval process, there are always additional items that need to be provided. Jeff and Denise both helped gather needed items and even helped research a few items to make sure there would be no issues in obtaining approval on the desired closing date. When we had a challenge with a needed format, they even provided personal help woth how to change the view of a needed electronic document to meet the formatting standards! I was just blown away with that level of hands on help.
They both kept in touch witb me during the entire process and even showed up for closing....the packet of information was the most helpful I’ve ever received (and this is my third home purchase) and designed to maximize your home investment along with strategies to ease the financial burden over time.
I cannot give this duo sufficient high marks other than to say I have already recommended them to both family and friends. They made a stressful time an actual enjoyable experience and made me feel as though I was part of their family during the entire process.
I remain grateful that I selected their services as well as the Tidewater Mortgage team and will do so again!

Mr. Hurd and his team made an extremely stressful process seem so easy! He kept us informed every step of the way and anytime there was an issue, it was basically taken care of before we even knew about it. Even when the buyers side did not have all of their information correct, Mr. Hurd went above and beyond to make sure it did not affect the buying of our home. My wife and I thought this would be one of our most stressful experiences. In the past if always has been. I am shocked, and pleased to share that it was actually an enjoyable and easy experience. We did not have ten thousand things to turn in and everything was automatically sent to us with check points on where we were at in the process and where we needed to go. It was in one word, amazing! No hoops to jump through! We will be returning to Jeff, Denise and the rest of the Hurd home team for all my mortgage needs. Thank God for professional people like the Hurds!!
